Jesus said to his followers, "Look around you! Vast fields are ripening all around us and are ready now for the harvest. The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!"
John 4:35-36 (NLT)Because Jesus Christ invites us to join him in the harvest, Trinity Reformed Church seeks to be...A contagious community of faith
that connects people to Christ,
nurtures their spiritual growth,
and empowers them for the harvest.
Jesus said to his followers, "There are many people to harvest but only a few workers to help harvest them. Pray to the Lord, who owns the harvest, that he will send more workers to gather his harvest."
Because Jesus Christ invites us to join him in the harvest, we believe ...
- that the Bible, God's word, is our standard for determining what we believe and how we live.
- that the church is the gathering place for vibrant and enthusiastic worship of God.
- that the church relentlessly depends upon God through fervent and frequent prayer.
- that God calls us to be a grace-filled and loving community of devoted followers of Christ.
- that clear, Bible-centered teaching is essential in developing people into more fully devoted followers of Christ.
- that every Christ-follower is to seek the lost and make disciples by cultivating relationships with unchurched people.
- that the church reaches beyond its walls to be involved in compassionate service and mission in our community and our world.
- that families are important to God and the church should take the lead in nurturing them closer to Christ and to one another.
- that Christ-followers need one another and should foster loving relationships through active participation in small groups.
- that Christ-followers joyfully use their talents, spiritual gifts, and financial resources to build up the Kingdom of God.
We believe the Bible to be the fully inspired Word of God and the ultimate and final authority for faith and daily living.
We believe in the Triune God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that all are sinners and cannot be restored to a right relationship with God by any power of their own.
We believe that God the Father, in love, sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to die on the cross for our sins, that Jesus rose from the dead, and that He will return one day to establish an eternal kingdom with all those who have put their faith in Him.
We believe that God will accept all who repent of their sins and believe that the finished work of Jesus on the cross is their only basis of salvation.
We believe that the Holy Spirit was sent by God to live in and transform the lives of believers into the likeness of Christ.
We believe the Church is God's New Community, purchased by the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ and established by Him to be lovingly devoted to worship, discipleship, service, and outreach.
