How Jesus Saved Me
I was raised in a home where I was taught about the power of trusting God to lead you through every day and the power of prayer. My mom was the rock of faith in our family. I was privileged to see my parents healed from the destruction of alcohol. They trusted in God to carry them through. As a teen, I heard my religious ed. teacher explain that God wanted us to pray to him like we were friends, not a 'to-do' list. That's when I started to pray to God and talk to him throughout my day. What a blessing it has been for me to spend my days in conversation with God. This gift has helped me survive the ups and downs of life and enabled me to praise God in the blessings. I believe we serve an awesome God and he has truly blessed me. I'm often sustained and strengthened by Matthew 7:13-14: "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Pray every day and often. Jesus tells us, "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." (John 15:7). Abide in his unfailing love, his mercy that is new each morning, and his saving grace.
