How Jesus Saved Me
I was blessed to have gospel seeds planted in my life as a little girl. My parents devoutly brought us to church & Sunday school. I knew God, but did not have a relationship with Jesus. As I grew up my family fell away from the church and so did I. When I was a junior in high school I met & eventually married (yes, I know that's young!) my now husband Danny. His family had such a deep strong faith and were wonderful Godly influences in my life (more seeds planted!). We married and became very involved in church. I taught Sunday school and my husband & I helped with the youth for 5 years. I would have said I was a believer who was new in the faith, but it really wasn't until I went through a weekend retreat called Cursillo that I truly gave my life to Christ! I cannot express my thankfulness to my Lord & Savior for SAVING ME, when I know I have never done anything to deserve it! My faith continues to grow and I love to study His word. Memorizing scripture has been a life changer for me and I challenge myself to that frequently. I also love to disciple and be discipled by others farther along in their walk than I am.
What I Do For Trinity
I consider it a blessing to just have been hired as Discipleship Director for Adults. I am so excited to do all that I can to promote one-to-one discipleship, 3-4 person discipleship groups, small groups & discipleship classes to encourage and help others love & follow Jesus. I also oversee the Hospitality ministry to welcome our guests and current members here at Trinity. We want to love all our brothers & sisters as well as we can, all while encouraging everyone connected to Trinity to be fully engage and serving so we can all live out our vision of helping people love & follow Jesus. I also oversee Prayer ministry here. There truly may be nothing more important in the church than prayer!
What I Do Outside Trinity
My greatest love & joy is spending time with my husband Danny and our children (Jakob, Alicia, Lukas, Carrie, Sophie and Brett) and grandchildren. Becoming a Mimi to Teddy, Mia, Charlotte and Taylor has truly been a joy I cannot even express. I love and cherish every moment with them. I also love to walk my Australian shepherd Bentley and spend time with friends! Music is a huge passion, and I consider practicing my instruments as actual fun... unlike most of my students. I have enjoyed teaching guitar for the last 24 years a few hours a week.
Fun Fact
I have been in and out of Men’s and Women’s prisons multiple times in my life. BUT…It was for Worship ministry and was one of the most fulfilling ministries I’ve ever been a part of.
